Pass Plus

Pass Plus is a practical training course offering 6 hours of valuable additional training to equip you with essential skills once you have passed your practical driving test, for drivers wishing to improve their skills and drive more safely and confidently for life..

It can be taken at any time withing the first two years after passing the practical driving test although it is most useful to new drivers in the weeks immediately after passing their test.

A qualified and registered ADI Instructor will deliver the course in order to help provide you with the skills you will need to drive safely on the road. In some cases a Pass Plus certificate can help to reduce your insurance, ask your insurance company for details of any reductions or incentives.

South Lanarkshire Council Pass Plus Subsidy

More than 1500 young people from across South Lanarkshire have now completed the council’s subsidised Pass Plus driving scheme.

Pass Plus aims to help newly qualified drivers gain valuable driving experience, building on the existing skills and knowledge they have already gained during training for their standard learner driver test.

Topics covered include driving in town, all weather driving, driving out of town, night driving, driving on dual carriageways and driving on motorways.

South Lanarkshire council provides a subsidy of £75 towards the cost of the initiative.
