Lesson Payments
All lesson payments should be made 48hrs before the start of each lesson by bank transfer. Block booking payments are non-refundable or transferrable. Block booking courses must be completed within 3 months of purchase. No late or missed payments for any reason unless prior arrangements have been agreed with your instructor.
Cancellation of Lessons
48hrs notice of cancellation of lessons is required, full lesson rate will be charged for all cancellations regardless of reason with less than 48hrs notice. It is important to understand that booked lessons should be honoured & kept! Your instructor will have put time away to honour your booking & will be unable to fill your cancelled booking at short notice. We will be happy to offer you a reasonable alternative IF possible, diary permitting with reasonable notice & providing your lesson is taken within the same week it was originally booked (normal working week runs from Monday to Sunday) if you move your lesson & cancel the moved lesson both the original & the moved lesson will be charged for Regardless of reason outstanding monies should be paid within 14 days. Target-ed Driving will always vigorously pursue all outstanding monies.
Lessons with Target-ed Driving
Your instructor in guaranteed to turn up for your lesson: however if a problem arises & the lesson cannot be completed as arranged a reasonable alternative will be offered within the same week your lesson was booked. If an alternative cannot be offered your next lesson will be provided free of charge, if you refuse the reasonable alternative no free lesson will be provided. Exclusions; Adverse weather which may put you or your instructor’s safety at risk (this will be determined by the instructor) mechanical breakdown (every effort is taken to ensure ALL repairs & servicing is completed to ensure your training car is as reliable as possible). Punctures, RTI hold ups & road closures.
Lesson Bookings
It is your responsibility to contact your instructor to book your lesson. Please keep in touch with your instructor as we cannot hold an unused training slot it will be given to another student without notice, we will not pursue you to book your lesson this is your responsibility.
Your Legal Responsibility
It is your legal responsibility to ensure your fitness to drive at all times. If you require glasses to drive you must wear them. If you are found to be under the influence of alcohol, drugs or are obviously unfit to drive for any reason your lesson will be terminated & charged in full. If you are prescribed any drugs which may affect your ability to drive please inform your instructor immediately, please remember we must consider health, safety, insurance & legal restrictions at all times.
Test Car & Test Bookings
Your training car may be hired for test purposes at the discretion of the instructor, regular weekly lessons leading up to your test must be taken with Target-ed Driving without breaks or absences in your training. If you do not maintain regular weekly lessons the training car will not be made available to you, this is to ensure you are fully prepared for your test as breaks in your training at this stage can adversely affect your driving standards. NOTE; if your driving standards drop to a level below that which is required for test, your instructor will make a determination as to allow your training car to be used or not for the purpose of test. This is an insurance requirement & also general respect for the safety of the car, student, examiner & general public. Please do not book a test date before checking the availability of your instructor. Booking the test on your behalf does not constitute a contract between the student & Target-ed Driving, no responsibility for changes to or cancellation of test by the DVSA will be taken by Target-ed Driving or its instructors. If the DVSA cancels or moves your test Target-ed driving cancellation policy will still be in force.
Student Behaviour
Target-ed Driving instructors are entitled to work in a none hostile, none violent, none abusive environment. Any such behaviour directed at a Target-ed member of staff or its representative by a student or anyone associated with the student will result in the immediate termination of the lesson & all future lessons, no refund will be given in full or in part & a report will be made to the appropriate authorities.
Additional Charges
Cost of repair or insurance excess whichever is the least for any wilful, deliberate, malicious or neglectful damage to the training car. Solicitor, Legal fees & Administration costs incurred in the recovery of any outstanding monies for unpaid lesson charges, lesson cancellation charges or any damage to the training car. WARNING all outstanding monies must be paid within 7 days, Target-ed Driving will always take legal steps to recover outstanding monies through the courts if required, the following charges for administration will be made for the initial recovery of outstanding monies list of charges. All letters will be charged at £28 per letter, additional recorded delivery charges will also apply. The above has been reviewed & updated on 1st December 2017.
